How funny is this picture? Evangeline is the cause of that grumpy face on Kevo. But, how can you stay grumpy for long when that cute chubba is squealing with delight and giving you pats on the back first thing in the morning!
Aren't kids supposed to require more sleep than adults...?
On Friday Evangeline and I had a surprise visitor! My college roommate and one of my besties, Rachy, was in town! She came to visit her grandmother but we got to steal a few hours of her time!
Evangeline has had stranger danger the last couple of months but within seconds of meeting Rachy they were immediate best buddies.
Love you, Rachy! So glad Evangeline finally got to meet you! Megs, Jocey, you guys are next!!
Can you see Rachy's baby bump?! She's growing another one of Evangeline's buddies!
As a mom you try not to compare your kids to other people's kids, but it just happens. I try not to care what other people's kids are or aren't doing, but in reality I totally pay attention. Milestones are important, it reassure you your kid is on track or an achiever, or maybe even the slow one.
Evangeline has been rolling over from her stomach to her back since 4 months (super advanced, right?). But, she hasn't really seemed to care about rolling from her back to her stomach. But, I haven't really cared...well, I mean, maybe I have a little. Well, today I bribed wher with my phone and she flipped from her back to her front like a chap. I swear she must have been practicing behind my back.
Kev and I caught it on tape to show that our kid is soooo advanced, or at least on track, or maybe slow...? Anyways, so she flips both ways now and she does it soooo well!!!
(I was trying to shorted this video but my phone says it is out of memory or some jazz like that. So just skip to the middle to see the action!)
Evangeline is so lucky to have incredibly doting grandparents. We had a great time in Tahoe and even got a few extra hours a sleep in the morning (thank you, Kathy).
We loved having Bob and Kathy get to know Evangeline and her adorable personality.
Evangeline is missing you all, especially Abbey, also know as "Ah".
Since Evangeline has taken to a 7pm bedtime Kev and I haven't ventured to a sit down restaurant for several months.
And when not wanting to cook we always decided getting it to go would be easiest.
While in Tahoe we decided to be crazy and take Evangeline out to eat and SIT DOWN with Bob and Kathy.
In N Out for lunch: She mastered the high chair. Kev and I both got to eat at the same time.
Thai Basil for dinner: fishing for ice cubes was the highlight of the night. She was so good the chef came out to pinch Evangeline's chubby arms and compliment her on her table manners.
All in all a success! I think we may even try it again.
Pippa is staying with us until Robbie arrives in Vancouver after driving all the way across the country with their belongings. Evangeline is taking every opportunity she can to spend time with her utero friend, Verity.
